On September 19th, I left for a flight to the UK because I was invited to the Institute for Arts and Ideas to host a couple of panels and interview Roger Penrose for their festival.
I love your humility Curt. Fast becoming the most famous serious science interviewer in the world, and here you expose all your foibles so we mortals can feel momentarily superior and sympathise! Great recount of the adventure. Oh, and thanks for expanding my vocabulary too! Avuncular! I'll use it on my kids today!
I would expect a professional like you to leave at 6am if you have a 90m trip to an interview with a Nobel laureate scheduled at 10am, what's up with that bro
Thanks - and any luck in getting promised link to presentation by Prof. Ivette Fuentes, Sir Roger’s close collaborator and your best episode in years?
My apology for persistence but I would like to get an update on that exciting presentation by Prof. Fuentes - her efforts to validate Roger Penrose theories are groundbreaking.
Wow quite the adventure! Especially, and most especially the car ride , Oy! I'd be an absolute wreak myself. I'm no good in these situations at all, especially because I'm a huge planner and nothing can go wrong because I don't plan for that.
Your story plays out like a dream, where our deepest fears and desires manifest into a lived Shakespearean play.

I crashed on avuncular as well but as a non-native reader have a good excuse... 😅

Ha. Lessons learned!
Awful luck with the trip to Oxford, but I'm especially disappointed in the IAI being so strict with the questions.
Meeting Penrose has been my lifelong dream. Don't know if it will ever happen.

Should be incoming this week. It will be placed in the description of the https://youtu.be/cUj2TcZSlZc video. Thank you Boris.
Thank you, Curt - much appreciated
I just received it in my email and so I'll upload it later today once I'm back at my desktop
Thank you. I just searched on my iPhone - can’t find it. Can you help me? Many thanks !!
